Common Questions

Straight answers, no fine print.

The honest answers to what men, families, and attorneys ask us most. If your question isn't here, just ask.

Is The Foundry Society a treatment center or rehab?

No. We are a peer-led recovery, mentorship, and personal development program. We are not a clinical or licensed treatment facility, and our staff are not licensed clinicians. We are men who have done this work, walking alongside men who are doing it now.

Who is the program for?

Men working through PTSD, mental-health challenges, and active addiction who are ready to do real work, every day. You don't have to have it figured out before you start — that's the point.

Do I have to be sober before I start?

No. Men come to us in active addiction. What we ask is that you show up every day and stay honest with your mentor.

What does the commitment look like?

A six-month minimum. We meet seven days a week for one to two hours, with a daily check-in seven days a week, plus one-on-one mentorship focused on root-cause work and the goals you set for your own life. Men are free to continue past six months — many do, as alumni and mentors.

What happens if I relapse or test positive?

Screening is part of the program. Instant 12-panel urine screenings are presumptive; any positive is sent to a certified lab for confirmation. A lab-confirmed positive follows a clear, fair ladder: a written warning and accountability plan first, suspension second, removal third. You'll always know exactly where you stand. Is what I share kept private?

Yes. Records are kept in secured, offline files — not in cloud services — and access is limited to the founder and program operations. You can request a copy of your own records at any time. Read our privacy terms →

Can you provide documentation for my court or attorney?

Yes — honestly. We can provide a participation verification letter, an attendance summary, the drug-screening log, lab confirmations where applicable, and a letter of completion. We cannot provide clinical evaluations, diagnoses, or anything requiring a licensed clinician. What we can and cannot provide →

What does it cost?

We talk through that directly in your first conversation, so it's clear and there are no surprises. Reach out and we'll have an honest conversation about it.
